This guide is tailored to the navigation options found on the S1F2.

If you are using a different Saturn device, the menu options will be the same. However, additional steps may be required to find them. Some menus will have arrows appearing at the bottom of the screen to navigate to subsequent pages.

Please note, the details shown below and in the images can vary slightly to what you may see on your device; however, the overall process will be similar.

Please also ensure that your terminal is not in training mode if you are using the terminal in a live setting.

ATTENTION:

This feature is for adjusting a Pre-Auth amount, Auth Increment will increase the Pre-Auth amount, and Auth Decrement will decrease the amount. See Pre-Auth – Increment for the guide on how to process an Auth Increment.

Prior to using the Auth Increment feature, the terminal needs to have completed a Pre-Auth transaction first – see the Pre-Auth Chip & PIN or Pre-Auth CNP (Manual Entry) guides for more information.

Once you are ready to finalise a Pre-Auth transaction, you will need to process a Completion for it – see the Completion Chip & PIN or Completion CNP (Manual Entry) guides for more information.

Step 1:

From the Sale screen, press the arrow in the top left corner of the screen.

Step 2:

Select Others.

Step 3:

If Auth Decrement isn't shown on the first page, press the arrow in the bottom right of the screen to move to the second page.

Step 4:

Select Auth Decrement.

Step 5:

Enter the amount that was processed on the initial Pre-Auth.

NOTE: If you have Incremented or Decremented the Pre-Auth already, you will need to use the most recent adjusted amount, instead of the initial Pre-Auth amount.

Step 6:

Present the payment card.

Step 7:

If Chip & PIN is used, the cardholder is required to enter their PIN, followed by pressing the green OK button to confirm.

If you are using CNP / Manual Entry, follow the on-screen prompts, see the CNP (Manual Entry) Payment guide and follow from step 6 to step 11, as the process will be the same

Step 8:

Enter the Scheme Reference Data – this can be any alphanumerical reference that you wish, this will be used in any further Auth Increment, Auth Decrement, and in the Completion to link these transactions together.

Step 9:

Enter the new total adjusted amount that you desire, this is inclusive of the initial Pre-Auth amount.

For example, if the initial Pre-Auth was charged at £30.00, and you want to subtract £10.00 from the amount, you would need to enter £20.00 here.

Step 10:

The terminal will display a "Processing" message on screen while the Acquirer determines if the transaction is approved or declined.

You do not need to do anything at this stage.

Step 11:

If successful, the screen will display "Transaction Online - APPROVED".

You do not need to do anything at this stage.

If you see any other message, this could mean you are experiencing connection problems, or there is a problem with the transaction. Please contact the technical support helpdesk and/or Acquirer if you are unsure.

Step 12:

After a few seconds, the terminal will prompt whether you would like to print a customer copy (receipt). Once you select No/OK, the terminal will then return to the Sale screen.

Alternatively, its possible that the terminal will trigger the Digital Receipt option instead of prompting you with the choice to print a receipt. Click here for more information about the Digital Receipt functionality.

Once you are ready to finalise a Pre-Auth transaction, you will need to process a Completion for it using the adjusted amount – see the Completion Chip & PIN or Completion CNP (Manual Entry) guides for more information.
